Πολιτικός από τη Θεσσαλονίκη. Πολιτεύτηκε από τη δεκαετία του 1950 με την ΕΡΕ, στενός συνεργάτης του Κωνσταντίνου Καραμανλή, εξελέγη βουλευτής με τη Ν.Δ., ευρωβουλευτής, ενώ διετέλεσε και υπουργός της κυβέρνησης Καραμανλή.
