Biographical history
Γενήθηκε το 1920 στην Κυψέλη Άρτας, από αγροτική οικογένεια. Φωτογράφησε την Εθνική Αντίσταση ενώ μεταπολεμικά εργάτηκε στο φωτογραφικό τμήμα της ΔΕΗ. Οι σκληρές συνθήκες του πολέμου και ο αγώνας του λαού της Ηπείρου για επιβίωση και προκοπή επηρέασαν καταλυτικά τον ψυχισμό του, το φωτογραφικό ύφος και τη θεματογραφία του. Συγχρόνως εξελίχθηκε σε οξυδερκή καταγραφέα της ελληνικής παράδοσης και λαϊκής τέχνης.
