Ο Νικόλαος Οικονόμος ήταν πρόκριτος και καραβοκύρης της Ύδρας την εποχή του Αγώνα. Ο Αναστάσιος Ν. Οικονόμος έγινε επανειλημμένα δήμαρχος του νησιού μεταξύ 1859-1890.
