Ναύαρχος της Ελληνικής Επανάστασης που διαδραμάτισε εξέχοντα ρόλο κατά τη διάρκεια αυτής πρωτοστατώντας σε πολύ σημαντικά γεγονότα. Το πραγματικό του όνομα ήταν Βώκος. Ενεργό δράση συνέχισε να έχει και μετά την απελευθέρωση του ελληνικού κράτους.
